Each Girl Scout Council requires training for leaders, co-leaders, first aiders and helpful parents as needed. Girl Scouts - Great Plains Council's requirements for leaders and co-leaders include two courses: Getting Started: Building Strong Girls plus a Beginnings course for the specific Girl Scout level of their troop.

We understand that time constraints play an important part in a leader's life and so our Basic Leadership Training (BLT) is offered in three formats: instructor-led, self-study, and online.

Our two outdoor courses match the girls' progression in the Out-of-Doors through these courses: Intro to Lodge Camping, Intro to Tent Camping and Intro to Backpacking. Each course builds on the previous skill-set introduced to the girls and continues with more advanced skills to teach the girls as they progress in their outdoor experiences.
