These simple steps will assist you and your girls in having positive and fun experiences.

Feel free to make copies of the registration forms and complete the appropriate form following the recommended guidelines. Please note this process is used only for Great Plains Council programs. Community Collaborators have individual registration processes. Check each collaborator page.

  1. Registrations are accepted by mail, fax, walk-in, or online at www.gpgirlscouts.org. (Registrations for Environmental Education Workshops are only accepted by telephone.) Registrations are time stamped for accuracy when they arrive at the council office and are processed in the order they are received (unless otherwise noted). Registrations received prior to the opening date listed in the Program Book will not be processed until the day registration opens, and will be handled only after processing any and all registrations received on the opening day.

  2. Registration closes two weeks prior to the program or when program is at full capacity, unless otherwise noted.

  3. Complete all information requested on the registration form.Full payment must accompany the registration form unless otherwise stated. Non-Girl Scouts, between the ages of 5-17, who are participating in programs must pay the program and/or member registration fee. Payments are accepted by cash, check, money order, VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Current cookie coupons are accepted only for programs taking place before the expiration date printed on the coupon. For example, if the cookie coupon expires March 1, 2007, the program must take place on or before March 1, 2007.

  4. Financial assistance may be available for registered Girl Scouts who, for whatever reason, find it difficult to pay the full fees for council events. Completed financial assistance forms must accompany registrations.

  5. Cancellations are accepted in writing only. Cancellations made at least two weeks before the event will receive a full refund. Cancellations received less than two weeks before the event will not receive a refund. Emergencies that prevent attendance at an event will be considered on an individual basis. Refunds for troop camping will be given only when written cancellation is received one month prior to the camping trip. When the camp is closed by council personnel because of hazardous weather conditions, a refund of the campsite fee will be given if the troop cannot be booked on another date. The council may cancel any program due to unforeseen circumstances.

  6. The health and safety of the girls is of paramount importance. All council-sponsored programs follow the safety, health and security standards and policies of Girl Scouts of the USA. First Aid and CPR-trained personnel are present at all council-sponsored programs. The girl/adult ratio and First Aid/CPR adult trained individual must be met by each troop/group as stated in Safety-Wise.

  7. Confirmation cards will be sent to you. You will be notified if a program is full.

  8. In the event of bad weather, turn to KFAB (1110 AM) for cancellation, postponement or late-start information. In the event of severe-weather warnings while a program is in progress, participants will be moved to a safe place at the program site.

  9. Please do not bring anything valuable to a program. Lost items are kept for two weeks at the council office. Unclaimed items are given to charity.

  10. Programs fill quickly and space is limited. Please register more than two weeks before an event. This courtesy will enable us to provide the highest quality of programs to you and your girls.

  11. Program updates will be available in September, December, March and June as a new regular feature of The Pathfinder, the Girl Scouts - Great Plains Council newsletter.

Using the Internet
Surfing the web is a big responsibility. The Girl Scouts - Great Plains Council recommends that you go online only with the supervision and approval of an adult. GSGPC has programs that teach girls how to use the web effectively for things like school work, badge and Try-It requirements, and, of course, for fun! Visit our Programs page for a look at exciting technology programs for you and your troops.
