Sit around the fire pit
Sing happy silly songs with good friends
Sing Taps, lay down, sleep

By Meghan

The fire flickers
The moon shines down bright and full
The marshmallows are crispy

We roast marshmallows
We play games and do projects
We do a campfire

She

If the world was ruled by women
It would be a peaceful place
There would be no war or killing
All would have a happy face.

With a woman in the White House
Kids would have a lot of rule
She would be our U.S. mom
Making sure that school’s cool!

Madame President, kind and patient
With respect instead of hate
She would keep our world safer
In 50 peaceful happy states!

As the years go by so quickly
One of us may grow to be
The first Girl Scout in the White House
The first president known as
SHE!

By Haley, Junior Girl Scout

Respect Yourself and Others

Respect yourself and others,
Like your friends, teachers, fathers and mothers.
Surely in fights it won't help you out,
But, it will give trust without a doubt.

You must respect yourself too,
Or you'll end up feeling blue.
Respect is in honor of the older and wiser
To do all this you might need an advisor.

R is for remaining in friendships
E is for everlasting fairness
S is for satisfaction in making friends
P is for polite in every way
E is for extra special friends
C is for connecting a long chain of friends
T is for being truthful.

Kelsie, Junior Girl Scout

Using the Internet
Surfing the web is a big responsibility. The Girl Scouts - Great Plains Council recommends that you go online only with the supervision and approval of an adult. GSGPC has programs that teach girls how to use the web effectively for things like school work, badge and Try-It requirements, and, of course, for fun! Visit our Programs page for a look at exciting technology programs for you and your troops.
